The /entrez directory contains a variety of executable programs for accessing the Entrez molecular sequence and literature data. It contains the following subdirectories: . - The latest versions of the Network Entrez client, which obtains its data over the Internet from servers residing at the NCBI. /network - Deprecated directory /outside - Data access programs contributed by outside parties, including: /e2d - The entrez-2d program from Alex Reisner at the Australian National Genomic Information Service (ANGIS). /clever - The CLEVER program from Pierre Rioux and Tim Littlejohn of the Organelle Genome Megasequencing Project, Departement de Biochimie, Universite de Montreal, and William A. Gilbert at the University of New Hampshire. /misc - Current asnload, data, and config directories. /toolbox - A link to the NCBI software toolkit archives. /docs - The Entrez User's Guide and other documentation.
